Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Nampa, ID

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Pediatric Dental Hygienist to join our growing pediatric dental team. The ideal candidate loves working with children, creates positive dental experiences, and is dedicated to educating families on lifelong oral health habits in a fun and supportive environment. Responsibilities Perform age-appropriate dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing for infants, children, and adolescents Administer local anesthetic for restorative treatment on patients. Understand appropriate dosage and measurement of local anesthetic. Take and process dental X-rays using child-friendly techniques (as permitted by state regulations) Assess oral health, identify concerns, and communicate findings to the dentist Educate children and parents on proper brushing, flossing, nutrition, and preventive care Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants Help reduce dental anxiety by using behavior-management and comfort techniques Review and update patient medical and dental histories Maintain strict sterilization and infection control standards Assist the dentist during pediatric exams and procedures as needed Create a welcoming, fun, and safe environment for patients and families Qualifications Associate or Bachelorâs degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program Active state Dental Hygienist license CPR/BLS certification (required or ability to obtain) Experience working with children preferred (or strong interest in pediatric care) Knowledge of dental software and digital X-ray systems Excellent communication skills with both children and parents Preferred Skills & Traits Gentle chairside manner and positive attitude Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm when working with kids Ability to explain dental concepts in age-appropriate language Team-oriented and adaptable in a fast-paced pediatric setting Work Environment & Schedule Pediatric dental office with a fun, supportive team culture Full-time position available Monday - Thursday Compensation & Benefits (if applicable) Competitive pay based on experience Paid time off and holidays Continuing education opportunities Health and retirement benefits (for eligible employees) Pay: $44.00 - $50.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Paid time off Work Location: In person
