Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team! As the first point of contact, you will manage patient intake, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and medical record maintenance. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring accurate billing and coding with CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including collecting co-pays and updating medical records in EMR systems like Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and answering inquiries promptly Maintain accurate documentation review of patient records, treatment plans, and care instructions in compliance with HIPAA regulations Support medical billing processes through data entry, coding review, and collection efforts using platforms such as Athenahealth or Meditech Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist with clinic or dental office experience Strong knowledge of medical terminology, dental terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is preferred Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for filing, documentation review, and office management tasks Ability to handle sensitive health information securely in accordance with HIPAA standards Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Strong computer skills including typing (10 key typing), data entry speed (faster than 50 WPM), and familiarity with office equipment such as multi-line phones and fax machines Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and a friendly demeanor Prior clinic or hospital experience is advantageous; familiarity with health information management practices is a plus Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional dental care while supporting our patients through efficient administrative support.
