Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly using aseptic techniques. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthodontics with precision and professionalism. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; document treatment details accurately. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing patient questions to foster a comfortable environment. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting the dental receptionist with medical documentation. Maintain strict infection control standards by following OSHA guidelines and ensuring all clinical areas are clean and organized. Assist with medical imaging procedures including 3D scanning when necessary for comprehensive diagnostics. Support pediatric dentistry cases with specialized knowledge of pediatrics and dental terminology to ensure gentle care for young patients. Qualifications Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Ability to operate dental X-ray equipment safely and accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Excellent chairside assisting skills including four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency during procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology and coding related to dental treatments for accurate record keeping. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and support medical imaging processes confidently.
