We are seeking a passionate and energetic Patient Care Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The Patient Care Dental Assistant at HealthWorks is a vital member of our nonprofit, mission‑driven dental team. This role delivers high‑quality preventive and therapeutic oral health care to patients of all ages while advancing our mission to improve the health of underserved individuals and families in Cheyenne and surrounding communities. The Assistant provides patient‑centered care to a diverse population, with a strong focus on Medicaid, uninsured, and vulnerable patients, and plays an active role in clinical care, patient education, community outreach, and efforts to reduce oral health disparities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Greet and welcome patients as well as sustain patient comfort and provide appropriate education throughout treatment. Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history to provide quality care. Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments following safety protocols. Provide superior chairside assistance to support dentist during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the dental practice. Prepare treatment room with strict adherence to safety protocols. Sterilize and prepare all dental instruments, equipment, and other materials for daily use. Manage supply and inventory levels, as well as place and expedite orders as needed. JOB REQUIREMENTS / EXPERIENCE: Completion of a Dental Assistants’ Training Program leading to a certificate in exposing radiographs. Training or experience in dental health maintenance, use of dental technology, infection control, patient services, creating a safe, effective environment, listening, teamwork, bedside manner, health promotion and maintenance, Use of Medical Technologies, Performing Diagnostic Procedures. Knowledge of dental equipment and sterilization. Knowledge of computer systems and applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, practice management, and e-mail. Knowledge of dental billing procedures. Current BLS certification. Minimum of six months experience in chair-side dental assisting. Education and/or experience equivalent may be considered. Must be certified in dental radiographs. .
