Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for patient care and a comprehensive understanding of dental hygiene practices, with the ability to deliver exceptional oral health services in a professional environment. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for providing preventive dental care, assisting with patient assessments, and supporting overall clinical operations to ensure optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current oral health status. Assist dentists during examinations. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while ensuring proper infection control and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, dietary choices, and preventive care strategies tailored to pediatric or general dentistry needs. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems. Monitor vital signs and review documentation to support comprehensive patient care and medical coding accuracy. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, dental terminology standards, and safety guidelines within the clinic environment. Requirements Valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist with state-specific certification requirements fulfilled. Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably within pediatric or general dentistry practices. Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and scheduling. Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control procedures relevant to dental hygiene. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse age groups, including pediatrics. Ability to perform medical imaging procedures accurately while maintaining patient comfort and safety. Knowledge of medical coding processes related to dental procedures for billing purposes.
