Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for patient care and possess comprehensive knowledge of dental hygiene practices, infection control, and patient education. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience through compassionate care and technical expertise. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Take and evaluate vital signs, medical imaging, and other diagnostic data to assist in patient assessment. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency. Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain infection control standards using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding. Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, ensuring a positive experience for pediatric dentistry patients when applicable. Adhere to all dental terminology standards and maintain knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental hygiene practices. Skills Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles and procedures. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations. Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during general dentistry procedures. Experience in dental office or clinic environments with a focus on pediatric or general dentistry settings. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral health, including teeth, gums, and related structures.
