Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans, to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Epic to ensure precise medical documentation and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs and medical history of patients prior to procedures to ensure safety and readiness for treatment. Assist with dental imaging procedures using medical imaging tools and maintain accurate medical coding for billing purposes. Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionist when needed, scheduling appointments, confirming patient information, and managing medical records efficiently. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting for various dental procedures. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Epic for managing medical records and documentation accurately. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and the unique needs of pediatric patients to ensure gentle care. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools confidently. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy at all times.
