Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by evaluating vital signs, medical history, and dental health status. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while ensuring proper aseptic technique and infection control standards. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable. Maintain accurate medical records, document treatment procedures, review documentation for accuracy, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support the dental team with chairside assisting, managing dental terminology, and preparing treatment areas for various procedures. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification. Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and recordkeeping. Strong knowledge of anatomy, dental terminology, infection control protocols, and medical coding standards. Experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments is highly preferred. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs compassionately and effectively. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and medical imaging techniques. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to all safety protocols. Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a real difference!
