Duties Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed to prevent infection. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) and operate advanced imaging tools such as 3D scanners to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring all medical documentation is accurate and compliant with HIPAA regulations. Conduct vital signs assessments and medical history updates to support comprehensive patient care. Support front desk operations by performing dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow efficiently. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and explain procedures using clear dental terminology. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; experience with medical coding and records management is highly desirable. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is a plus; experience assisting with pediatric patients is preferred. Certification or training in chairside assisting, medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and infection control standards. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work seamlessly with team members as part of a four-handed dentistry team.
