Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient and precise treatment delivery Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies while maintaining strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Take dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment to support accurate diagnoses Manage patient records by updating electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Open Dental while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Perform chairside assisting duties including taking vital signs, explaining procedures to patients, and providing post-treatment instructions in clear dental terminology Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation and coding for insurance purposes Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment by adhering to infection control standards and proper sterilization procedures Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental assisting practices and terminology Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; experience with medical coding and documentation is highly desirable Skilled in taking X-rays, using 3D scanners, and performing medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry as well as specialized fields like prosthodontics or pediatric dentistry Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages including pediatrics Certification or training in radiography or dental assisting preferred; must comply with state licensing requirements if applicable Embark on a rewarding career where your skills directly impact patientsâ health and confidence!
