Description Dr. C Dental – South Hill is seeking a reliable and experienced Temporary Dental Hygienist to provide coverage during a medical leave of absence. Position Details Role: Temporary Dental Hygienist (Medical Leave Coverage) Schedule: Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays Dates: May 14, 2026 – June 6, 2026 Employment Type: Part-time, temporary assignment Licensure: Active Washington State Dental Hygiene License required Position Overview The Temporary Dental Hygienist will provide comprehensive preventive and periodontal care while maintaining the high clinical and service standards of Dr. C Dental – South Hill. This role ensures continuity of care during a team member’s medical leave and supports a seamless patient experience. Key Responsibilities Perform adult and pediatric prophylaxis (cleanings) Conduct periodontal assessments and non-surgical periodontal therapy Take and evaluate dental radiographs as needed Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care at home Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and charting Collaborate with doctors and clinical team members to coordinate patient care Follow all OSHA, infection control, and safety protocols Maintain a calm, professional, and patient-centered chairside manner Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Qualifications Active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in Washington State Prior clinical experience in general dentistry preferred Strong communication and patient education skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical setting Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to established workflows Comfortable in a short-term, part-time coverage role Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a dependable and clinically confident hygienist who can quickly integrate into an established team, deliver consistent high-quality care, and ensure patients continue to receive an excellent and comfortable dental experience throughout the coverage period.
