Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment areas by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all necessary materials are ready for procedures. Take high-quality X-ray images while adhering to strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and answering questions to foster a comfortable experience. Coordinate with the dental reception team to schedule appointments, update medical documentation, and manage medical records efficiently. Utilize advanced technology like 3D scanners and medical imaging tools to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning. Skills Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy. Strong familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical coding and documentation is a plus. Excellent understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment. Ability to perform chairside assisting confidently during various procedures including endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Knowledge of dental radiography including X-ray techniques and handling digital imaging equipment like 3D scanners. Effective communication skills for working closely with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism and empathy. Ability to handle administrative duties such as managing medical records, coordinating appointments, and supporting the dental receptionist team seamlessly.
