Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners are ready for use. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, and scheduling appointments. Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Support infection control practices using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to uphold the highest standards of safety. Assist with medical imaging procedures, including 3D scans when applicable, and help explain treatments using clear dental terminology to patients of all ages, especially pediatrics. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting procedures and terminology. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation platforms is a plus. Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and dental radiography including X-ray procedures. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy. Certification in dental assisting or equivalent is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members like dental receptionists and supporting patientsâ needs effectively.
