Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Louisville, KY

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic practice, which is uniquely dedicated 100% to dental implant treatment. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) Open Dental. Manage patient flow and provide chairside assistance with Dental Implant Treatment, surgical and prosthetics. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging when necessary. Provide education to patients regarding oral hygiene and post-treatment care. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use. Perform administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and handling patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Requirements Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in implant dentistry being a plus. Proficiency in using EMR systems Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology related to dental procedures. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure. Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques is essential. Experience with 3D scanners is desirable but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients on treatment plans and oral health practices.
