Job Summary Apex Family Dentistry is seeking a compassionate, organized, and patient-focused team member to join our growing practice. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships with patients, coordinating care, and helping create an exceptional patient experience while maintaining dental assisting skills. We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator / Cross-Trained Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team. Your expertise will help foster trust and comfort for our diverse patient population while supporting the clinical team with technical skills across multiple specialties. Duties Patient Care & Front Office Operations (70â80%) Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and update medical records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Open Dental or Eaglesof Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries Schedule appointments and manage the daily schedule Verify insurance benefits and eligibility Present treatment plans and discuss financial arrangements Coordinate patient follow-up and re-care appointments Manage patient communications, confirmations, and recalls Ensure patients have a positive and comfortable experience throughout their visit Assist with administrative and operational tasks to keep the office running smoothly Clinical Support (20â30%) Take digital radiographs when needed. Take denture impressions and scans when needed. Assist with denture deliveries and denture adjustments Provide chairside assistance during procedures as needed Assist doctors with patient education and post-operative instructions Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is required; experience with dental assisting is highly valued Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging techniques, and chairside assisting in general dentistry settings Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques necessary for clinical excellence Experience with Open Dental software is a plus Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Positive attitude and team-first mindset Join us to make a meaningful difference in patientsâ lives by delivering exceptional care in a supportive team environment.
