Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for patient procedures. Assist dentists chairside during various treatments, including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthodontic work. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners (Itero and Panmeca) and medical imaging equipment while adhering to strict HIPAA and infection control protocols. Manage patient records accurately within EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring all medical documentation complies with HIPAA regulations. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures to support safe and effective care. Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control standards to uphold a safe clinical environment. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones as a dental receptionist, and managing medical records efficiently. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy. Proficiency in EMR systems including Eaglesoft and DentalWriter; familiarity with medical coding and documentation is a plus. Skilled in chairside assisting with expertise in four-handed dentistry techniques. Ability to operate dental X-ray equipment safely while following all radiation safety guidelines. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Certification or training in medical terminology, endodontics, prosthodontics, or related specialties is preferred but not required.
