Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Part Time Dental Hygienist, where your expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting oral health. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis (cleanings), including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Assess patientsâ oral health status by reviewing medical and dental histories, taking vital signs, and conducting oral examinations. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to improve their overall health. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and clinical notes in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment. Review documentation for accuracy, code treatments appropriately using medical coding standards, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Experience Previous dental office or clinic experience preferred but not mandatory that includes infection control procedures, medical records management, and understanding of HIPAA compliance will set you apart.
