Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Medford, OR

About Us Dr. Tanner Dental and The Airway Center are a holistic dental and airway-focused practice in Medford, Oregon. We provide gentle, patient-centered dental care and support patients and families dealing with dental health, airway, sleep, jaw development, and related concerns. We are looking for a warm, organized, detail-oriented front desk / patient care coordinator who can help patients feel cared for while keeping communication, scheduling, and follow-up organized. About the Role This is not just an answering-the-phone position. The front desk / patient care coordinator is the communication hub of the practice. You will help answer calls, schedule patients, support check-in and check-out, collect payments, follow up on messages, help keep the schedule full, and make sure patient communication does not fall through the cracks. This role supports both the dental practice and the Airway Center. The right person is calm under pressure, friendly with patients, comfortable learning technology, and able to manage multiple moving pieces at once. What Youâll Do Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out. Answer and return patient calls. Schedule new and existing patients accurately. Monitor voicemails, texts, emails, and follow-up tasks. Help patients understand appointment expectations and next steps. Send forms and appointment information. Collect payments and assist with patient financing options when needed. Provide receipts, statements, or superbill support when appropriate. Help keep the schedule full through recall and follow-up outreach. Document patient communication clearly in the appropriate system. Route clinical questions or urgent concerns to the right team member. Support both dental and airway-related calls. Learn and use systems such as Open Dental, phone tools, and communication software. Use scripts, checklists, and office systems as the role is developed. What Weâre Looking For Strong phone and patient communication skills. Warm, calm, and professional with patients. Organized and detail-aware. Able to multitask without losing important details. Comfortable learning software and using checklists. Coachable and willing to follow office systems. Comfortable making outbound follow-up calls. Able to document communication clearly. Dental front office or dental assisting experience preferred, but not required for the right person. Interest in holistic dentistry, airway health, or patient-centered care is a plus. This May Be a Good Fit If You: Like helping patients feel comfortable and cared for. Can handle phones, scheduling, notes, and follow-up without getting overwhelmed. Like clear systems and checklists. Are comfortable learning new tools. Can stay warm and professional in a busy office. Want to grow with a practice that is building something meaningful. This May Not Be a Good Fit If You: Prefer to only work on one task at a time. Avoid phone calls or follow-up calls. Do not like learning new software. Struggle with details or documentation. Do not like using scripts or checklists. Workplace Expectations This is a patient-facing healthcare role. The practice has written workplace standards for professional appearance, personal cell phone use during patient care hours, patient privacy, documentation, and conduct. These expectations will be reviewed during the hiring and onboarding process so candidates understand the role before accepting. Why Join Us? Supportive, mission-driven practice environment. Modern, well-equipped dental office. Opportunity to learn about holistic dentistry and airway-focused care. Meaningful work helping patients and families. Paid training for the right person. How to Apply Please apply through Indeed with your resume and a short note about why this role interests you. Dental experience is helpful, but attitude, communication, organization, and coachability matter most. Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour Work Location: In person
