Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, with precision and care Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly following aseptic techniques Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations for medical documentation and records Manage patient flow by greeting patients as they arrive, updating medical history, taking vital signs, and explaining procedures clearly Operate electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to accurately document patient information, treatment notes, and medical coding Support infection control protocols by maintaining a clean and sterile environment in accordance with OSHA standards Assist with medical imaging using advanced tools like 3D scanners when necessary for comprehensive diagnostics Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry, and taking vital signs Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care Experience working with EMR systems such as Epic or Dentrix to manage medical records efficiently Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic technique to ensure patient safety at all times Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners with precision Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members like dental receptionists and hygienists Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles to provide compassionate care for young patients Join us in creating healthier smiles every day!
