Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Mayfield, KY
Join our team! Freeman Dental, in Mayfield, KY is hiring for an expanded duties dental assistant. This position is for Monday thru Thursday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. This position will work at both locations. Days worked and location could be negotiated. Expanded duties dental assistant primary responsibilities are as follows: Welcome patients in the dental office with a friendly demeanor Ability to take digital x-rays that include panoramic, bitewing and full mouth series Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed Sterilize instruments according to regulations Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry Provide expanded duty functions such as making temporary crowns and placing fillings Undertake lab tasks as instructed Provide post-operative care instructions Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked Discuss treatment plan options Maintain accurate patient records Schedule appointments Follow all osha guidelines on disinfecting protocols Skills Proven experience as dental assistant Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Understanding of health & safety regulations Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus Good computer skills Excellent communication and people skills Attention to detail Well-organized and reliable High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA We offer a competitive wage and bonus opportunities.
