Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support infection control standards by sterilizing instruments, managing dental supplies, and maintaining a sterile environment in accordance with OSHA guidelines. Experience Previous experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general dentistry setting is highly preferred. Proficiency with dental office software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and documentation review is essential for accurate recordkeeping. Experience with scaling and root planing Proficiency in sharpening instruments Strong understanding of infection control practices and HIPAA compliance ensures safe patient care environments.
