Dental assistant - Central Texas Prosthodontics - San Marcos, TX

Overview We are looking for a dental assistant to join our small team of dedicated, hard-working individuals committing to providing high quality, patient oriented care in a relaxing environment. Our practice is a new prosthodontic specialty practice located in San Marcos. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients. Duties Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring that all necessary instruments and materials are ready and available. Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during patient care. Prepare and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow within the clinic. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards of practice. Have a willingness to acquire new knowledge and skills, embracing new ideas and perspectives, and being receptive to learning experiences. Experience The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications: Familiarity with infection control procedures to ensure patient safety. Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with an emphasis on dental assisting techniques. A solid grasp of dental terminology to effectively communicate with both patients and team members. Front office experience is a bonus. Experience in the customer service industry is a bonus as well. A sparkling personality is required. Bilingual speaker is a plus.
