Job Summary Join our growing dental team as a Dental Hygienist. Newly acquired office is looking for a hygienist that will grow with us. Expect a slow start as we are transitioning from a retiring dentist to a new owner doctor. Office was established in 1972 and has a core of dedicated patients; help us grow to attract new patients and grow in size. This is not a corporate office, here your expertise will elevate patient care and promote optimal oral health. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, assist with patient assessments, and support the clinical team in delivering exceptional dental treatments. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure a positive experience for every patient while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and documentation. Responsibilities include Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote healthy smiles. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current medications to ensure safe and effective care. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to all safety protocols and infection control standards. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies. Support infection control procedures by following aseptic techniques, sterilization protocols, and proper documentation review. Skills Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Open Dental, Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and scheduling. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry procedures. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining a positive patient experience. Illinois Dental Hygiene license is mandatory. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes necessary for a safe clinical environment.
