Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. 3 days a week 1pm to 6 pm, Every other Saturdays. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting orthodontists during procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a smooth workflow within the clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental assisting practices, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. Responsibilities Assist orthodontists during various procedures, including placing and removing braces and other orthodontic appliances. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays and 3D scans, to assist in treatment planning. Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Monitor patient comfort during procedures and provide reassurance as needed. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care. Stay updated on the latest orthodontic techniques and technologies. Experience Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred, with specific knowledge in orthodontics being a plus. Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures. Ability to operate 3D scanners and other dental technology effectively. Knowledge of maintaining medical records accurately while adhering to HIPAA guidelines is essential.
