Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly according to infection control protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures such as cleanings, restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery with precision and professionalism. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans, while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment details. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and monitoring patient comfort throughout procedures. Educate patients on post-treatment care, dental terminology, and oral hygiene practices to promote long-term dental health. Support the dental reception team by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation efficiently. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including aseptic technique, infection control, anatomy knowledge, and chairside assisting skills. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation platforms is a plus. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards; certification in radiography preferred. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding related to dental records. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience assisting with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or front desk assistant; ability to handle patient inquiries professionally. Ability to work effectively in a team using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow efficiency.
