Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to foster ongoing health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies. Support infection control protocols by practicing aseptic techniques and sterilizing instruments thoroughly. Skills Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures. Experience working with pediatric dentistry patients and understanding their unique needs. Skilled in chairside assisting, including patient care, documentation review, and medical coding. Familiarity with EMR systems, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance standards. Ability to accurately monitor vital signs and interpret basic medical imaging results. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to pediatric and general dentistry patients.
