Dental Hygienist - RIVERWALK DENTAL - Tucson, AZ

Job Summary We are a private, family-owned dental office. My grandfather, Anthony Don, started the business over 70 years ago. I bought the office from my Uncle Norman 4 years ago. He still works here as well as my wife who is also a dentist. We operate at a relatively relaxed pace. We look forward to hearing from you! The position is for Tuesdays and Thursdays only. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and documenting findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety. Review documentation for accuracy, update medical records regularly, and assist with medical coding to facilitate billing processes. Maintain a clean and sterile clinical environment by following strict infection control standards aligned with HIPAA regulations and dental terminology best practices. Qualifications Valid state license as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures. Proven experience in dental office settings, including familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience working with pediatric patients and in pediatric dentistry is highly preferred. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties confidently while maintaining aseptic technique.
