Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Expanded Duties Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, Invisalign, Botox, esthetic dentistry, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Take dental X-rays, ensuring patient safety and comfort Record vital signs and medical history using EMR systems such as Carestack Manage patient records accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical records as a dental receptionist when needed Maintain knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy for effective communication Practice four-handed dentistry to improve efficiency during procedures Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting; experience with dental assisting is preferred Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding is a plus Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures Ability to operate X-ray machines and perform chairside assisting confidently in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry Experience with Invisalign is preferred but not required Certification in radiography or X-ray certification required Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively EDDA is preferred but not required Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail This position is integral to delivering high-quality patient care while supporting the clinical team.
