Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is ready for procedures. Assist dentists during various treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by handing tools and managing patient comfort. Take digital dental X-rays and medical imaging to assist in accurate diagnoses while following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Monitor vital signs and assess patient readiness for procedures, especially in pediatric dentistry or patients requiring special care. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and answer questions about procedures or treatment options. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, managing medical documentation, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Skills Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with dentists, patients, and team members in a fast-paced environment.
