Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring a smooth operation within the clinic. This position requires proficiency in various dental practices and technologies, as well as a commitment to patient comfort and safety. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays, utilizing knowledge of medical imaging and radiation safety. Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical records management in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize dental software systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for scheduling appointments, managing patient information, and documenting treatment plans. Perform vital signs checks and assist with patient assessments as needed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use. Provide support in pediatric dentistry settings, demonstrating an understanding of child behavior management during dental procedures. Experience Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry being advantageous. Proficiency in EMR systems is essential; experience with specific software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and medical coding is beneficial for this role. Experience with 3D scanners or other advanced dental technology is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and provide excellent customer service within a team-oriented environment.
