Dental Assistant / Cross-Trained Front Desk We are seeking a reliable, professional, and patient-focused Dental Assistant / Front Office Coordinator to join our team. This cross-trained position combines clinical dental assisting responsibilities with front office administrative duties to ensure an exceptional patient experience from check-in to treatment completion. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while providing outstanding customer service and quality patient care. Clinical Dental Assistant Responsibilities Assist the dentist during dental procedures and treatments. Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained. Take, process, and document dental radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with state regulations. Provide chairside assistance during restorative, surgical, and preventive procedures. Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative instructions, and treatment plans. Perform basic laboratory procedures, including pouring and trimming models. Maintain accurate clinical records and treatment documentation. Ensure compliance with OSHA, infection control, and HIPAA regulations. Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked operatory. Front Office Responsibilities Greet and check in patients in a professional and friendly manner. Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments. Verify insurance eligibility and assist patients with insurance-related questions. Maintain and update patient records accurately. Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries. Present treatment plans and discuss financial arrangements when needed. Process patient payments and maintain accurate financial records. Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and insurance companies. Assist with recall programs and patient follow-up communications. Qualifications & Experience Previous experience as a Dental Assistant required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Knowledge of dental assisting techniques, procedures, and terminology. Experience with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or similar systems. Familiarity with dental insurance verification and claims processes. Understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards. Strong organizational, multitasking, and customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. X-ray certification and Dental Assistant certification preferred (as required by state regulations).
