Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols, we use Dentrix and Dexis Review and update medical records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix Collaborate with dentists to develop personalized treatment plans based on patient assessments and dental terminology expertise Skills Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for documentation and scheduling Strong knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles, including working with children in a pediatric dentistry setting Experience with medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation review for accurate record keeping Skilled in infection control practices, aseptic technique, and maintaining a sterile environment Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse age groups, especially pediatrics Familiarity with dental anatomy, medical imaging procedures, and vital signs monitoring Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail Join us to help create healthier smiles in a supportive environment that values your expertise!
