Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for each patient Assess patientsâ medical and dental histories, vital signs, and overall health status to inform treatment plans Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies tailored to their needs Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency Take and interpret dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper medical coding Maintain detailed and accurate dental records within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Requirements Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current state certification Proven experience in dental office settings, with familiarity in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and understanding of anatomy relevant to oral health Skilled in chairside assisting, medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and infection control procedures Knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and record keeping Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance, medical records management, and medical coding standards Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, demonstrating patience and professionalism Embark on a rewarding career where your expertise makes a real difference!
