Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Wilson, NC

Overview We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years dental assisting experience and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office while providing exceptional care to our patients. As a Dental Assistant, you will assist Hygienists or Doctors during procedures, manage patient records, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Skills needed for the Hygiene Coordinator aspect includes scheduling hygiene appointments via phone calls or text, verifying dental insurance, checking patients in for their appointments and updating patient's medical & demographic information. Responsibilities Assist the Dentist/Hygienists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Manage patient scheduling and maintain an organized appointment calendar. Perform medical documentation accurately, including updating patient records and treatment plans. Operate dental imaging equipment for X-rays and ensure proper techniques are used. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Maintain compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Support pediatric patients with a gentle approach to create a positive experience. Skills Proficiency in expanded dental assisting functions, scheduling, communication with patients and other team members. Familiarity with Dentrix, NOMAD and iTero is a plus. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry. Experience in dental documentation practices for accurate record keeping. X-ray and CPR Certification required Ability to assist in various dental procedures with attention to detail.
