Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained. Assist dentists chairside during procedures such as restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthodontics treatments. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records accurately within EMR systems like Epic or Dentrix, including updating medical history and documenting treatment details. Provide vital signs monitoring and medical imaging support for pediatric and adult patients to ensure safety throughout procedures. Educate patients on post-treatment care, dental terminology, and preventive practices to promote oral health awareness. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing medical documentation efficiently. Qualifications Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical coding and records management is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining patient comfort and safety standards. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience assisting with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain dental procedures clearly using appropriate dental terminology. Certification in dental assisting or related fields is preferred; ongoing training in endodontics, prosthodontics, or 3D scanner operation is advantageous.
