Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care in a fast-paced Prosthodontist dental environment. Your expertise will support various dental procedures, maintain infection control standards, and help create a welcoming atmosphere for patients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about delivering high-quality dental services while fostering positive patient experiences. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures including restorative and prosthodontic treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly in accordance with aseptic techniques. Take digital dental radiographs with digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) system of Softdent, ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and well-being. Support infection control protocols by following strict sterilization procedures and maintaining a clean clinical environment. Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and acting as a dental receptionist when needed to ensure seamless patient flow. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and relevant coding practices to facilitate accurate documentation and billing processes. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent credential in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience working in a general dentistry or pediatric dentistry setting with familiarity in dental assisting procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes. Knowledge of dental anatomy, medical imaging techniques including X-ray technology, and dental terminology to support accurate clinical work. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient rapport. Familiarity with medical documentation practices including medical coding and recordkeeping for insurance purposes.
