Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe treatment planning. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Operate dental equipment such as radiography units for medical imaging and utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for accurate documentation review. Maintain strict infection control protocols following aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations to protect patient health information. Support pediatric dentistry cases by applying specialized knowledge of pediatrics and dental terminology relevant to young patients. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic setting is preferred. Familiarity with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly advantageous. Strong understanding of general dentistry procedures, medical coding, and documentation review processes. Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice. Prior experience with pediatric dentistry or working with children is a plus. Demonstrated ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
