Duties Assist dentists during various procedures across general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient chairside support. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic technique standards to uphold infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including 3D scans when applicable, accurately documenting findings in electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, and scheduling appointments with precision. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging or documentation required for patients with complex health histories or special needs. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as managing medical coding, processing insurance claims, and maintaining organized medical documentation. Educate patients on treatment plans, post-operative care, and oral health best practices to promote ongoing dental wellness. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with strong proficiency in chairside assisting within a general or pediatric dentistry setting. Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for accurate recordkeeping and documentation. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and HIPAA compliance. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines; experience with 3D scanners is a plus. Strong understanding of medical terminology and medical documentation processes related to dental care. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists.
