Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to ensure optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs. Assist with chairside procedures in a four-handed dentistry setup, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control and aseptic techniques. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support infection control protocols by maintaining sterilization standards and ensuring all dental instruments are properly sanitized. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in dental office settings, ideally with exposure to pediatric dentistry and general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and understanding of anatomy relevant to oral health. Familiarity with Dentrix for documentation review and record keeping. Strong knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures. Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement and patient assessment confidently. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about their oral health needs.
