Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, handling inquiries, appointment rescheduling, and patient follow-ups promptly. Verify insurance benefits, perform insurance verification, and facilitate claims processing using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper health information management. Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information, updating medical histories, and explaining treatment plans clearly. Support billing processes by coding procedures accurately using CPT coding standards and ICD-10/ICD-9 codes for medical billing and documentation review. Organize filing systems for medical records, handle office supplies inventory, and ensure the cleanliness of the front desk area to promote a professional environment. Skills Proven experience in dental office or clinic settings with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical terminology. Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms like eClinicalWorks or Meditech. Skilled in insurance verification, medical billing, ICD coding, CPT coding, and understanding of Medicare regulations. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (including 10 key typing), and familiarity with health information management systems like Athenahealth or Hospital experience systems. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing accuracy. Exceptional customer service skills paired with effective phone etiquette and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently. Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with dental terminology such as care plans and intake procedures is a plus.
