Dental Assistant â Orthodontic Training Opportunity Job Summary Sunrise Orthodontics is a multi-location private orthodontic practice seeking a dependable and motivated Dental Assistant who is interested in training in orthodontics and pursuing long-term growth toward RDA licensure and/or an OA permit. This position is ideal for a current Dental Assistant who already has active California-required dental assisting certifications and wants to build a career in orthodontics. Orthodontic experience is not required, but applicants must have a strong clinical foundation, current certifications, and the ability to work in a fast-paced patient care environment. Please Read Before Applying This position requires: Current Dental Assistant experience Active California-required dental assisting certifications California Dental Practice Act and 8-hour Infection Control certifications completed within the last 12 months Current BLS/CPR certification Radiation Safety certification preferred Full-time availability, MondayâFriday Travel between Rancho Cordova, Elk Grove, Dixon, Placerville, and Roseville Travel is expected and is not reimbursed Willingness to train in orthodontic assisting Interest in pursuing RDA licensure and/or an OA permit Reliability, professionalism, and a positive team attitude Due to current California Dental Board requirements and the timeline involved in pursuing RDA licensure and/or an OA permit, applicants whose required certifications are older than 12 months will not be considered for this position. Pay $21â$24/hour, based on experience, certifications, and qualifications Responsibilities Assist with patient preparation and clinic flow Support orthodontic procedures under supervision while training Prepare and break down operatories Follow sterilization, infection control, and OSHA compliance protocols Support clinical records, photos, impressions, and other orthodontic documentation as trained Help maintain clinic cleanliness and organization Support lab tasks and case management Learn orthodontic assisting procedures including wire changes, appliance support, bonding preparation, and patient education Provide friendly, professional patient care Work closely with doctors, assistants, and the clinical team Qualifications Current Dental Assistant experience required California Dental Practice Act and 8-hour Infection Control certifications completed within the last 12 months required Current BLS/CPR certification required Radiation Safety certification preferred High school diploma or equivalent Strong communication skills with patients and team members Ability to learn quickly and follow direction Comfortable working with children, teens, and adults Dependable, team-oriented, and professional Interest in long-term growth in orthodontics Spanish speaking preferred, but not required Willingness to travel up to 50% required Benefits Health insurance 401(k) with matching up to 4% Paid sick time and vacation Uniform allowance Orthodontic training and growth opportunity Opportunity to pursue RDA licensure and/or OA permit How to Apply Please submit your resume and include âDA â ORTHO TRAININGâ in your application.
