Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies for various dental procedures. Assist dentists chairside during examinations and treatments, including restorations, extractions, and prosthodontics. Take and develop dental X-rays while maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental health. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with the dental receptionist to ensure smooth clinic operations. Maintain a sterile environment by following infection control standards aligned with HIPAA regulations and OSHA guidelines. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic or general dentistry practice. Proficiency with EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and vital signs measurement. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners for comprehensive diagnostics. Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry procedures is highly desirable. Certification in X-ray technology or radiography is preferred; ongoing training in pediatrics or prosthodontics is a plus.
