Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly using infection control protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments with precision and efficiency. Take digital imaging while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records electronically using EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; document medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes accurately. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and ensuring patient comfort throughout procedures. Educate patients on post-treatment care, dental terminology, and preventive practices to promote ongoing oral health. Support administrative tasks such as greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and maintaining organized medical documentation. Skills Proficiency with dental software including EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for efficient record keeping. Strong knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment. Experience with dental imaging technologies including X-ray machines and 3D scanners for accurate diagnostics. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation standards aligned with HIPAA compliance. Ability to perform chairside assisting in various specialties like endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with four-handed dentistry techniques. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and pediatrics to assist effectively during procedures. Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with team members such as dental receptionists and hygienists while providing exceptional patient care.
