Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Kalispell, MT

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental clinic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to assist in various dental procedures, including pediatric dentistry. Responsibilities - Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. - Prepare and maintain the treatment room, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use. - Perform infection control procedures to maintain a safe and sterile environment. - Take and record vital signs as needed, ensuring accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. - Manage patient records and assist with medical documentation using electronic health record systems such as Open Dental - Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. - Support pediatric patients by creating a welcoming environment and addressing their specific needs during visits. - Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and handle administrative tasks as required. - Knowledge on Open Dental is preferred Qualifications - Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred. - Knowledge of four-handed dentistry techniques and infection control practices. - Familiarity with taking vital signs and understanding basic medical documentation. - Proficiency in using electronic health record systems; experience with Open Dental is a plus. - Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures. - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages. - Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times. - Certification in dental assisting and X-ray highly recommended.
