Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care! Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and patient communication will help create a comfortable environment for patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly using infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with chairside assistance. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans, while maintaining proper radiation safety standards. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding. Collect vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse to monitor patient health before procedures. Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices to promote overall wellness. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and managing medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Qualifications Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry or pediatric dentistry setting. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and anatomy relevant to dental procedures. Ability to operate X-ray machines and other medical imaging equipment safely and effectively. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices. Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics. Certification in dental assisting or equivalent training; additional certifications in radiography or pediatric dentistry are advantageous.
