Dental Assistant, Radiology - VCU Dental Care - Richmond, VA

Chief Purpose of the Position The Dental Assistant provides radiology services within the VCU School of Dentistry’s Radiology Clinic. This role is responsible for exposing diagnostic-quality dental radiographic images while applying principles of radiation safety. Additionally, the position assists with instruction in technical radiology courses for dental and dental hygiene students. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Knowledge of dental radiography techniques, radiation safety, and infection control. Experience with digital imaging systems, panoramic imaging, and Cone Beam CT. Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team. Proficiency with computers and standard office software. Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (required) X-ray certification (required) BLS certification (required) CDA certification (preferred) Minimum of 3 years’ experience using radiology equipment At least 2 years of dental assisting experience preferred Hiring Range: commensurate with experience Brief Summary of Benefits: Benefits for this position include, but are not limited to Health and Group Life Insurance, Vision, Dental Insurance and Dental Discounts, Flexible Spending account, HSA account, and Paid Holidays.
