Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics, ensuring all tools and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control standards. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners while maintaining proper aseptic technique. Manage patient records efficiently within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding. Support patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures using dental terminology in an understandable manner, and addressing patient questions with professionalism. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by adhering to infection control protocols aligned with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve workflow and reduce procedure time. Coordinate with the dental reception team to schedule appointments, verify insurance information, and handle administrative tasks related to medical records. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including X-ray processing, chairside assisting, and infection control practices. Experience working with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry and pediatrics. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and support pediatric dentistry procedures with patience and care. Familiarity with specialized fields like prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry procedures. Understanding of HIPAA compliance standards for safeguarding patient information.
