Responsibilities Prepare treatment areas with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols. Manage patient records accurately within Opendental, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs and medical history to support comprehensive patient care during visits. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental health. Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment for everyone. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and managing dental terminology. Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with children in a compassionate manner. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently. Strong organizational skills as a dental receptionist managing appointments, patient flow, and administrative tasks efficiently. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide outstanding patient care in a fast-paced environment.
