You'll provide comprehensive preventive and periodontal care, educate patients on their individual needs, and work closely with the dentist and clinical team to provide coordinated care. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, including prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling, and root planing Perform thorough patient assessments and review medical and dental histories Educate patients on oral hygiene, periodontal health, and preventive care Take and review dental radiographs as appropriate Identify periodontal and oral health concerns and communicate findings with the dental team Collaborate with dentists and clinical team members to provide comprehensive patient care Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation Follow OSHA, sterilization, infection control, and safety protocols Create a comfortable and positive experience for every patient Qualifications Active New Mexico Dental Hygienist License Strong understanding of periodontal disease, treatment, and maintenance Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Patient-focused approach to clinical care Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented Passion for preventive dentistry and patient education Live and Work in Alamogordo Alamogordo offers a great combination of career opportunity, affordability, and outdoor lifestyle .
