Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Houston, TX
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice. This position requires strong organizational skills, a commitment to infection control, and a thorough understanding of dental assisting practices in both general and pediatric dentistry. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary tools and materials. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for use. Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed. Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans. Manage patient records using dental software system Open Dental Ensure adherence to infection control protocols throughout the practice. Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to optimize office efficiency Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental practice. Familiarity with dental software system Open Dental is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Strong understanding of infection control practices in a clinical setting. Experience in both general dentistry and pediatric dentistry is preferred but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is an advantage.
